Whisper and her litter of four came into the shelter when the kittens were about 7 days old. She is a semi-feral community cat. She is shy, but gentle. She is also small and likely only about 1 year old by my reckoning. They only spent an hour or two at the shelter before I picked them up. They were all stressed as expected, and she initially refused food. One of the babies was significantly smaller and had an upper respiratory infection. I brought her back the vet the next morning, because she was clearly struggling, and sadly she didn't make it. The other two tabby kittens, Fuzzy and Chappie, had eye infections. They did well with prescribed medication. The smallest one of the remaining three, Chappie, was also on supplemental Nutrical twice a day to help him over the hump until he's strong enough with just mother's milk. Eventually he has surpassed Fuzzy and was no longer the littlest by the time they were ready for adoption. Olive was the teacher's pet from the outset. She was always the biggest and didn't have any health issues. She was the first to eat solid food.
